steam hole
   An opening from a cavity through which a current of air charged with vapor blows upwards and condenses at the orifice to appear as steam. Such openings are an occasional feature in karst terranes [20].
   Synonyms: (French.) puits à vapeur, puits fumant; (German.) Dampfschlot; (Greek.) atmotrypa; (Spanish.) cavidad fumante; (Turkish.) buhar delii.
